James Whitman is a poetry-loving high school student with a couple of problems: an abusive father, an ineffectual mother, a crush on
a popular girl, a beloved sister who has been kicked out of the
house. All of this adds up to a life plagued by anxiety and depression. But he keeps his head above water with the help of Derek, a popular guy who is still a loyal friend, Walt Whitman's belief in the good of all people, and Dr. Bird, an
imaginary shrink who happens to be a pigeon.
Join us to discover how James learns to love himself in spite of the shadows in his life.
